When to Refer

  • Suspected or confirmed gynecologic cancer
  • Suspicious adnexal or pelvic masses
  • Endometrial Intraepithelial Neoplasia (Complex Atypical Hyperplasia)
  • Precancerous or high-risk gynecologic lesions
  • Before starting any chemotherapy
  • Second opinion
  • Risk-reducing surgery for genetic syndromes and breast cancer
  • Complex benign surgery such as robotic myomectomies & endometriosis

  • Risk-reducing gyn surgery for genetic syndromes and breast cancer patients

What to Send with the Referral

  • Reason a Gyn Onc is needed (if not cancer or suspicious for cancer, what makes it complex — e.g. adhesions, obesity)
  • Demographics
  • Front & back of insurance card
  • Office notes
  • Pap smear reports
  • Pathology reports
  • Operative reports
  • Imaging reports (share images by powersharing to UF Epic)
